Software built around your work, not the other way round
Off-the-shelf tools force your organisation to bend to them. We build custom software that fits exactly how you operate, from offline field data to donor reporting, then manage it and keep your data safe. Made for NGOs, field teams and institutions.
The short version
- We design, build and manage custom software for organisations whose work doesn't fit a generic tool.
- Built for field reality: offline-first, low-bandwidth, sensitive records handled with care.
- You own the software and the data. We keep it secure and never expose it.
What is custom software, and when do you need it?
Custom software is built specifically for how your organisation works, instead of bought off the shelf. Generic tools are fine until your process is unusual, your teams work offline in the field, or your data is too sensitive to hand to whatever app was cheapest. That is where building your own pays off.
Your process is unique
You've adapted around a generic tool's limits for years. Custom software removes the workarounds and fits the way you actually run.
Field realities
Remote sites, no signal, shared low-end phones. Software has to work offline and sync later, not assume fast wifi.
Sensitive data & donors
Beneficiary records, case files, and the audit trails donors require. Generic apps rarely meet that bar. Custom software is built to.
What we build for NGOs and field organisations
Real problems we see across development, humanitarian and community work, and the kind of software that solves them.
Offline data collection
Field officers log household visits, health checks or surveys with no signal. Everything syncs to a central database the moment they're back online.
Beneficiary registration & deduplication
Register people once, catch duplicates across programmes, and know exactly who received what aid, so help reaches the right households.
Distribution & verification
Track food, seed, cash or supply distributions with confirmation at the point of handover and a clean trail for every item.
Donor & M&E reporting
Turn field data into the exact indicators and reports donors require, automatically, instead of weeks of spreadsheet stitching.
Case management
Secure, access-controlled records for social services, child protection or health programmes, where privacy is not optional.
Field worker & asset tracking
Coordinate community health workers, volunteers, clinic stock or water points, and see status across every site in one place.
No signal? The work doesn't stop
Field software should be offline-first. Staff capture data wherever they are, even with no connection. The records save safely on the device, then sync to your secure central database the moment a signal returns. Nothing is lost, nothing waits.
This one design choice is the difference between software that works in a Nairobi office and software that works in Turkana, Marsabit or a refugee settlement. We build for the second.
How to think like a developer, even if you never write code
You don't need to code to scope great software. You need to think clearly. Every system, however complex, is a machine that turns inputs into outputs by following steps. Once you can describe that clearly, building it, whether by a developer or with AI, becomes the easy part.
Inputs, process, outputs
Start from what should come out. Then ask what has to go in, and what has to happen in between. A registration system takes a person's details, applies your rules (check for duplicates, assign an ID), and produces a clean record, a donor-ready report and an audit trail.
Describe a feature this way and you've already done the hardest part of software design. The clearer the description, the better the result.
Start from the result
Ask what the software should produce before anything else. The output tells you what to build.
Name your "things"
Every system is built around records: a beneficiary, a visit, a distribution. List what each one needs to know.
Map the normal path
Write the everyday steps first, plainly. This is the spine the whole system hangs on.
Then hunt the exceptions
What if there's no signal? A duplicate? A missing field? Real software lives in the edge cases.
Decide who does what
Who enters, who approves, who can see sensitive records. Permissions are a design choice, not an afterthought.
Describe it clearly
Clarity is the real skill. Code is just the translation. A sharp description gets you sharp software.
We build it, and we keep it running
Plenty of vendors build software and disappear, leaving you with a system nobody can fix. We create and manage custom software, so it keeps working, stays secure, and improves over time.
Understand
We learn your work in the field and on paper, then describe the system in plain terms before any code.
Design
We map the records, the steps, the exceptions and who can do what, and agree it with you first.
Build
We build it in stages on real conditions, so you see and shape it as it takes form.
Manage
We host, secure, support and improve it, so your software doesn't rot after launch.
We treat your data like it's our own, because our name is on it
Beneficiary records, case files and donor data carry real responsibility. We build security in from the first day, not as a feature bolted on later. Here is what that means in practice.
Your data stays yours
You own the software and every record in it. Nothing is sold, shared or reused.
Least-privilege access
People see only what their role needs. Sensitive records stay restricted by design.
Encrypted & backed up
Protected in transit and at rest, with regular backups so nothing is ever lost.
Kenya DPA aligned
Built to respect how personal and beneficiary data must be handled under the Data Protection Act.
Never exposed to third parties
Your data is not fed into anything it shouldn't touch. It stays inside your system.
Full audit trail
Every sensitive action is logged, the accountability boards and donors increasingly expect.
Experience, ownership, and skin in the game
We don't ask you to take a leap of faith. We bring a long track record, build on our own businesses first, and hand you software you fully own.
Nearly two decades on the web
We've designed, built and ranked software and sites since 2007. This is not our first build.
You own everything
Code and data are yours, documented, with no lock-in. You're never held hostage by your vendor.
Built for field reality
Offline, low-bandwidth, real conditions. We design for the hardest site, not a fast-wifi demo.
Security-first by default
Data protection isn't a line item we add later. It shapes the design from the first decision.
We stay with it
We manage and improve what we build, so it keeps serving you long after launch day.
We use it ourselves
The discipline we apply for you, we apply to our own businesses every day.
Custom software: common questions
Custom software is built specifically for how your organisation works, rather than bought off the shelf. It fits your exact process, your data and your field conditions, instead of forcing you to bend your work to a generic tool.
When your process is unusual, when you work in the field with poor connectivity, when you handle sensitive personal or beneficiary data, or when donors and regulators require specific reporting and audit trails that generic tools cannot provide.
Yes. Field software can be built offline-first, so staff capture data with no signal and it syncs securely to a central database when connectivity returns. This is essential for organisations working in remote areas.
You do. You own the software and every record in it, with documentation and no lock-in. Your data is never sold, shared or used for anything beyond running your system.
Through least-privilege access so people see only what their role needs, encryption in transit and at rest, regular backups, audit trails on sensitive actions, and alignment with the Kenya Data Protection Act. Security is built in from the start, not added later.
Yes. We create and manage custom software, which means ongoing support, updates, security and improvements, so your system keeps working and does not rot after launch.
Tell us the problem. We'll design the system.
Bring us the process that doesn't fit any tool you've tried. We'll scope it clearly, build it, and keep your data safe.
